In case the audio portion of the video isn’t available to you (we’ve had some trouble) here’s what you should know from watching the video:
Particular piece has pinholes in patches as you can see in the video
Wabi-sabi pieces have flaws that we have tried to highlight in the images. We feel these pieces are still beautiful to wear and in most cases, you are the only one who will know that the piece has "flaws". Feel free to contact us for additional pictures or if you have any questions.
Wabi-sabi pieces are final sale.
Another sariKNOTsari best-seller, our up-cycled silk shrugs are available in a variety of one-of-a-kind colours and patterns. Perfect for covering your arms on a chilly evening or for dressing up a simple outfit with a splash of colour.
These shrugs are great for travel--light enough to throw into your purse and easy to wash in a hotel sink. Silk is a temperature-regulating fabric so it can keep you warm in the evening and cool during the day.
Added bonus? This shrug can easily be converted into a lofty scarf! Makes a great gift!
This style works well on all body types.
As always, one size fits most but we encourage you to check out the measurements on the sizing tab.
Generally, this one size fits from a size 2 to a size 18 but here are the actual product measurements. (There are slight variations due to the handmade nature of this garment.)
BODY OPENING AT WAIST: 35" Laid Flat
OVERALL LENGTH: 20-22" Laid Flat
OVERALL WIDTH (WRIST TO WRIST): 55"
Our sheer garments are made with pure silk georgette or pure silk chiffon saris. The remainder of our silk items are made with a strong pure silk crepe.
CARING FOR PATCHED SILK:
If a patch seems to be lifting at the edges, it can easily be re-attached.
- Place a piece of white cotton fabric on the ironing board (in case the glue from the patch seeps through the fabric onto your ironing board.).
- Place the silk fabric with the area to be patched in a single layer on the white cotton.
- Place the patch over the fabric flaw on the silk fabric.
- Cover the silk fabric and the patch with a presscloth - a thin layer of cotton fabric.
- Press the patch on firmly through the presscloth with the iron temperature set to high. Repeat as necessary.
- Allow the patch to cool before moving the silk fabric off the ironing board.
