“Puccify” Me! In Silks

Dreamlike patterns. Kaleidoscopic movement. 

Soft pastels, vibrant colour, swirling paisleys, and whimsical patterns inspired by the fantasy-mod world of the 1960s.

After serving as a pilot during World War II, Emilio Pucci saw landscapes differently. Flying over Europe made him see the whirlwind of it all, and that idea expanded with his travels and influences. His playful prints helped shape the shift toward the more artistic, psychedelic aesthetic that would bloom later in the 60s and 70s.

Many of the motifs and colour relationships that later became associated with European resortwear and psychedelic fashion had roots elsewhere first, especially India. Then they travelled, were reinterpreted, and remixed into something new.
