Attention U.S. Customers

We’re happy to share that our India-made silk collection and other products manufactured outside of Canada are once again available to our U.S. customers.

The U.S. Government has closed the de minimis exemption, which means all products entering the United States are now subject to applicable duties and tariffs, regardless of the value of the shipment.

What Does This Mean for Your Order?

For products manufactured in India, including our sariKNOTsari silk collection, the current cost of importing into the U.S. generally includes the standard U.S. duty for the product, plus an additional tariff of approximately 10%.

NO SURPRISES AT THE DOOR!

We calculate and collect applicable U.S. duties and tariffs in advance at checkout.

  • You’ll see exactly what you’re being charged before completing your purchase.
  • If you’re not comfortable with the amount, you can simply abandon your cart.
  • If you do purchase, those duties and tariffs are prepaid, so you should not receive an unexpected tariff bill when your package arrives.

Our India-Made Silks Are Back!

Our sariKNOTsari silk collection is fully manufactured in India. Although we ship your order from Canada, these products are declared to U.S. Customs with India as their country of origin.

As a result, they are subject to the applicable U.S. duties and tariffs for goods originating in India — essentially the regular import duties that existed before the current Canada-U.S. tariff dispute, plus the applicable additional tariff.

Other products manufactured outside Canada are also currently available to our U.S. customers..

What About Products Made in Canada?

We are continuing to monitor the tariff situation for products whose country of origin is Canada. Where tariff treatment remains uncertain, some Canadian-made products may continue to be unavailable to U.S. customers.

Where Does the Tariff Money Go?

Tariffs and duties are U.S. government import charges paid by the U.S. purchaser.

We collect these amounts at checkout so they can be prepaid through the customs process. sariKNOTsari does not keep any portion of these duties or tariffs, and none of this money is paid to the Canadian government.

Thank You

We know the changing tariff situation has been frustrating and confusing. Our goal is to make shopping with sariKNOTsari as transparent as possible.

We’re delighted to welcome our U.S. customers back to our India-made silks and other internationally manufactured products — with duties and tariffs handled in advance and no surprises at the door.

If you have any questions, we’re always happy to help.
