There is no longer a de minimus loophole and all products will be subject to tariffs and duties based on their country of manufacture (not based on the country they ship from).
Brokerage Fees
There will likely be a customs brokerage fee from shipping carriers as a fee for processing your shipment through customs.
Tariffs
You will also be charges US government tariffs which are (as of today, but subject to change without notice)
- 50% on our silk pieces and our bamboo.
Tariffs are based on country of manufacture of the product. You will find information about the country of manufacture in the "Country of Manufacture" tab on each product page. Again, the most up-to-date information on tariffs can be found here.
When Do You Pay the Tariffs and Fees?
The tariffs and brokerage fees will be charged to you by the shipping companies who will be brokering the shipment on your behalf. They will contact you after we have shipped.
The Bottom Line
It would be safe to say that unless things change, you could end up paying up to double the cost of your initial purchase plus shipping and brokerage fees by the time your pieces reach you in the US.
