Attention U.S. Customers

Important Information for our U.S. Customers

Please note that the U.S. Government has closed the de minimis loophole. This means that all products entering the United States are now subject to duties and tariffs.

As many of you know, U.S. import tariffs have changed several times over the past few months and continue to evolve.

Following the latest tariff changes announced in late July, the costs of importing products into the United States have become increasingly unpredictable for many products and countries of origin.

Rather than risk charging our customers incorrect tariff amounts, we have made the difficult decision to temporarily remove products manufactured in countries where tariff rates are currently unstable, including China, India and Canada from our U.S. website.

Why Have Some Products Been Removed from Our Website?

The current tariff situation is changing so quickly that we can no longer confidently predict the true landed cost of certain products entering the United States.

Rather than risk incorrect pricing or unexpected complications at the border, we have temporarily paused U.S. sales of products manufactured in countries where tariff rates remain uncertain.

Our India-Made Silk Collection

For the time being, our sariKNOTsari silk collection, which is fully manufactured in India, WILL NOT be available to our U.S. customers.

These products are currently subject to the applicable U.S. import duties, together with the current 10% tariff and any additional Section 301 tariff percentage that may apply at the time your order enters the United States.

IT IS POSSIBLE THAT THEY MAY ADDITIONALLY BE SUBJECT TO A 50% PUNITIVE TARIFF IMPOSED BY THE U.S. GOVERNMENT ON GOODS FROM CANADA.

We have removed these items from our website rather than have our U.S. customers be surprised by excessive tariffs.

Once the tariff situation becomes more predictable, we will make these and other products available to our U.S. customers.

Where Does the Tariff Money Go?

This is one of the questions we’re asked most often.

Tariffs are taxes imposed by the U.S. Government on goods entering the United States and are ultimately paid by the U.S. purchaser.

When you place your order, we collect these amounts only because they are required for customs clearance. The shipping carrier remits those funds directly to the U.S. Government on your behalf.

We do not keep any portion of these tariffs or duties. None of these funds are paid to the Canadian government. We simply collect the required amount and pass it along through the customs process.

Thank You

We know these frequent changes have been frustrating for customers and small businesses alike.

Our goal is to remain as transparent as possible, keep you informed, and continue serving our U.S. customers whenever practical.

Thank you for your patience, your understanding, and your continued support.

If you have any questions, we’re always happy to help.
